The British Iron works center 28.7.2017 - Pt 2

I had heard so much about this place I was excited to come and have a look for myself.I was delighted when the Hot air balloon Festival was hear a chance to do two things at once.
Hear is a small part of what we saw as we took a look around the grounds waiting for the display to start.

                                                                    Terminator

All sculptures are made from machinery and car parts

Alien

Werewolf Vs Alien

These images are from inside the cafe I couldn't resist the Paris style wheel and robot, there are also small shops inside. I loved looking at the post boxes so many different styles.

These are so cute and life like and there is a field you can go around to view so many more.

                                                            Knife  Angel

This sculpture will be going to London to speak out against knife crime, it was made with 100,000 knifes by Alfie Bradley.

This dragon was sat on top of a car and is my favorite I liked all the detail that is in it, so real looking.

Hear is the back view.

Hot air Balloon display at The British Iron works center - 28.7.2017 - Pt 1

I was on two minds weather I would make this event, as the venue had moved from Llangollen this year.My Friend Suzanne and I had bought a packed lunch and took seating as we new the event would last until late at night. We wanted to stay for the light glow finale, which is always one of the best parts of the day.

It was a slow start to the day we had walked around and looked at what was in the iron works, as they have so many art works on display this will be shown in Pt 2 blog. There were events on in the arena there was also stunt plane flying above us, but we were there for the balloons. Apparently due to the weather conditions they had to wait for the wind to die down so they could be inflated so we hung around until 4.pm. We had also had a lovely coffee in the cafe there. The arena started to fill up with balloons and we were glad we had brought chairs to sit on as we had a ring side view.

We weren't disappointed when the event started there was so much to see and so many balloons inflating at the same time.My camera was on overdrive trying to photograph them all.

As dusk began to fall we waited for the balloons to get prepared for the night glow which is the balloons light up in time to the music, by this time we had packed up the chairs and stood to watch.

We had a great day out but as always the traffic on the way out was diverted and slow moving.
