When you first see Towyn, it is hard to remember what it went through in the 1990's floods. Today there is no evidence of it except in the memories of the local residents. It is close to Rhyl and is a self sufficient place, with a regular bus route to other places along the North Wales coast.
I couldn't help but take this patriotic image
I like taking images in sepia, such as this one above because it gives a feeling of nostalgia to the image. This very much links back to Francis Frith and my interest in his photography collection.
The caravans in Towyn appear to outnumber the houses
This is one of the leisure parks which is close to where the market is held.
The next few images are taken from inside the leisure park
A father and daughter enjoy the day
The adults letting their inner child come out to play
On this particular day there were Morris Dancing troupes in a competition
The Tir prince race track - used for horse-trotting races
The next images are of the market where there is also a carboot sale held
There is another fair over the bridge by the beach
The image above captures fishing at sunset
I enjoy spending time here in Towyn. I love the skies, the clouds, the pace of life when I am there and the chance to reflect on life in general, with the added bonus of being able to use my camera to capture any special moments.
If you are looking for somewhere to rent or take your own touring caravan - Owen's is a family run business that takes pride in keeping their site tidy, free of litter and welcoming.
