Jood is a Shropshire-born artist, who has spent most of her adult life in Liverpool, living and working within the community arts scene. Having been away from Shropshire since she was 7 or 8 years old, she finally returned to live in Oswestry in 1998.
Her work is usually landscape-based – fairly abstracted, and more and more incorporating the human figure. Jood makes relief and intaglio prints, often combining other techniques to produce quite complex images using acrylic and oil in various forms, and sometimes other mediums.
