Oswestry trees in the church yard - 30.6.2014

 The Visitor and Exhibition Centre

St Oswald's Church

I had arrived in Oswestry early to collect my photographs as the exhibition had now finished. It was such a beautiful morning with the blue skies and sun shining. I had brought my camera to capture whatever had caught my attention in the church yard while I waited for the Exhibition Centre to open. The part that I was located in is a small area but I soon found so many things to photograph.

The images above I took in colour and monochrome to see which would give the best result.  I walked around this tree to see which would be the perfect view of the baby bear I could see climbing up the tree.

With the sun at just the right angle the trail off the slug made it look like a fairy tale world

At first I hadn't noticed the love heart carved into the bark of the tree,I was then left wondering how long it had been there and by whom.

I used monochrome in this image to show the detail in the bark it gives an abstract look to it.

The images above and below I wanted to try and capture how the light was reflecting a shadow

For the next 3 shots I had wanted to capture the colour as well as the texture of the bark and was pleased with the results.

The images above were also taken in mixed colour due to the fact that I had wanted to show the pattern of how the tree had formed. Although the green in the other image may be a little distracting, it throws another element into the image that emphasises the detail.

For some unknown reason when I look at this image I think of the film Pirates of the Caribbean, It could be due to the look of an octopus.

Davy Jones what the tree above reminds me of.

The image above and below I found quite eerie as I could see what appeared too me to look like the mask of the devil.

This is the same image again but this time I can also see the face of a mouse and owl. What can you see?
