Autumn 2011
I had been keeping my eye on the skies for a few days to get good light, to go and take some photos for a camera club brief. The contents we had to fulfill in this brief was Autumn close up. On this particular Saturday the skies were blue and the sun was shining brightly, a perfect opportunity not to miss. Below is a selection of the photos I had taken on that day.
A day in Liverpool. 16.11.2011
I had been wanting to go to Liverpool since September, due to one thing and another I didn't make it until November. I had set my alarm clock off for 6.00 am, because I knew there was a train arriving at 7.30 am "ish" in the station not far from where I live. I have always got this time train and arrived at Liverpool just a little before 9.00 am. The morning had a winter nip in the air which unbeknown to me would be the feel for the rest of the day. I had finally arrived and got off the underground tube at Central station, up the two escalators and through the ticket gate. My first port of call was to head on to Bold St where I knew there was a coffee shop, so I could have a caffeine top up and a warm. Having then taken a walk up Bold St and a look in some shops, I headed to the shopping complex. This is just outside John Lewis where I had my first photo opportunity, it was of Christmas decorations.
I had only managed to walk a short distance when I was greeted by some more and a small fair ground area. The bright colours and the smiling characters had grabbed my attention.
I took the opportunity of having a warm, due to the cold getting to my very core and turning my fingers numb. Not to look suspicious I found the wall art section and enjoyed viewing there selection. I have included a few of what I liked. I really liked the selective colour on the red bus ,the 3 old photos manage to capture moments of memories lost in time.

Once I had defrosted just like the frozen Christmas turkey, I walked up to the Albert Dock for a spot of lunch and a chance for more photography.
The more I walked around the Dock the more I found to take photos of, I hadn't seemed to have ventured around this area before for some reason.
There were many new buildings around the Dock area, as I turned a corner I saw an amazing building that made me think of Germany. The strange connection was made by the building reminding me of humbugs then Hamburg. Strange how the brain makes quick connections.
I then headed back towards the town to Bold St and Central station for the train. I loved the window displays of Christmas decorations, they brought the child within out staring at them in awe and wonderment. I. couldn't resist taking photos of them.
I had enjoyed my day and returned home at 6pm in the same kind of darkness that I had started out in. I am hoping to return to Liverpool to take some more photos and have a look at more of the Christmas decorations.
